We're looking for an accomplished Director of Program Management to lead and manage our growing PM Program. This role is responsible for overseeing initiatives throughout our project lifecycle, helping drive results from kickoff to project completion. This person will be accountable for creating the groundwork to support our technology offerings and ensure cross-functional synergy between the team and our clients. Outside of leading our PMO with agility, the Director role will be responsible for standardizing our management processes, policies, and our methodology. What you'll be doing: Research and identify the best tools needed to enable the team to success Monitor compliance, policies, and standards across the staff Build a center of excellence for knowledge sharing on industry best practices Establishing the PMO role and operating model (e.g. centralized or decentralized, areas of focus) and execution methodology Set standards for project management capabilities, including certifications and qualifications for Project Managers, success measurement criteria, methodologies, tools to be used, etc. Establish written guidance, templates, and practices to ensure base-level execution organization-wide. Nurture project management practitioners and give insight into industry best practices. Monitor staff compliance with policies and standards. Project Management Team Leadership: Establish the PMO organizational structure Oversee the hiring and staffing of the PMO Oversee the delegation of work to PMO staff based on initiative requirements Set annual performance targets for individuals, conduct performance reviews Maintaining open communication with functional and technical partners to ensure goal alignment and consistent expectations Owns executive status updates, report-outs, and risk documentation collected from all teams and facilitates monthly program reviews to ensure the portfolio is well understood, on track, and actioned for success. Project Tracking & Monitoring: Conceptualize, source, and implement tools to facilitate the planning, execution, and governance of organizational initiatives and projects Provide executive leadership with regular readouts of portfolio health, risks, and needs based on standard reporting templates. Manage the risk, issue, and change resolution process, and work with other leaders to take corrective action as needed. Oversee Project, program, and portfolio managers to ensure delivery of initiatives remain in line with organizational expectations. Manage a portfolio of program risks and mitigation plans and ensure groups' strategy, priorities and projects are being delivered on time and on budget. Project Prioritization Provide executive leaders with the information needed to assess which proposals have the highest potential value, impact, and strategic alignment. Interface with executives to define project priorities and implementation opportunities and challenges, and keep them up-to-date with project risks and opportunities. Qualifications Include: The Director of Program Management will be a seasoned, disciplined, and passionate leader with proven experience in managing medium to large complex initiatives. The role requires a smart, creative, and highly organized individual that has demonstrated that s/he can lead, inspire, grow and empower highly talented and highly committed individuals/teams, yet can be hands-on to get things done. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Expert-level knowledge of project and change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches (e.g. Project and Portfolio Management Methodology – PPM) Ideally has a PMI and CSM Certification Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies & SDLC best practices. Credibility as a senior-level project leader Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others Extensive knowledge of resource management tools Leadership Qualifications: Excellent communication skills, ability to manage through complex situations, and extensive experience working with clients and partners. Strong remote team leadership qualities. Ability to work independently and across many time zones. An ownership mentality and entrepreneurial approach, including comfort with intelligent risk-taking and problem-solving skills Be well organized with good delegation skills. Persuasive written and verbal communication that works well under pressure Adept at Program/Project and Change management Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior management, stakeholders, and team members The worst parts of this job: - Delivering difficult news.
